Newstalk, Ireland’s national talk radio station, will feature a new five part series on Irish Australian history in 2015.
The ‘Talking History’ show, broadcast on Newstalk on Sunday evenings (19.00hrs -20.00hrs GMT), will feature a series of episodes with Eoin Hahessy, a Melbourne based writer and editor of the Irish emigration blog flightofthecubs.com.
The new series builds on the popularity of the 2014 series on the Irish-Australian history whose episodes included the life of Irish cannibal Alexander Pearce and the extraordinary Catalpa rescue in 1876.
Presented by Dr Patrick Geoghegan of Trinity College Dublin, ‘Talking History’ focuses on the human side of history – unraveling the gritty, dirty and sometimes uncomfortable side we don’t usually hear much about.
The series on Irish-Australian history will commence on February 22nd, followed by March 29th, April 19th, May 24th and June 21st,
The series will be available after broadcast via newstalk.ie/talkinghistory
